Slimspiration.

Being a naturally very curvy woman, I try and inspire to have a body shape like woman and celebrities similar shapes to me.
This is not inspiration.

I feel truely sorry for the girls who feel they have to look like this to be beautiful.

Please feel free to comment with pictures of your favourite Slimspiration.
Here's a few of mine:

Sophie Dahl:

Mia Tyler:

Crystal Renn:

Thora Birch:

Marilyn Monroe:

Please feel free to contribute - need all the inspiration i can get!

I'm in the same boat as you are; very curvy. I'm always trying to find ways to lose the extra lbs but I'm not very motivated to exercise because I feel victimized in the exercise room by all the "fit" people in there. But I can always look at Marilyn Monroe and feel good because me and her are the same size and she is absolutely beautiful!

I can't see your body, of course, but all of the women posted (except for thora, because she is now too thin) are beautiful. I don't get the anorexia obsession with Hollywood today.

Of course it's good to want to be healthy, but I've always been a fan of some extra weight - and sometimes more than some... many men lean that way verses the stick figure type. I actually think the idea that being a bony waif is somehow attractive is a myth perpetrated by the media. I'm not sure what the gain to that is, but I don't believe it's a genuine desire shared by many straight men.

I absolutely love this idea, of finding women who are healthy and role models for young girls. It's not enough to just say being super thing isn't healthy. This gives us a picture. Your- what? 3?- blog entries have provided me some inspiration already. (Although, I must say that if I'm already feeling insecure about my body, seeing women who just have gorgeous faces and hair and everything is still a little depressing.)

I mean, I can understand the whole preocupation with weight and everything. I think people have to feel good about themselves.

But suffer alot to loose a couple of lbs is beyond my comprehension. I have seen plenty of women with a few pounds overweight that are extremely sexy.

Society has got to learn to embrace us all as we all are and learn to enjoy the qualities within the diversity of manking.

Afterall, curvy women were considered the role models of beauty in the past.

So, Casseopeia, I wouldn't feel bad about it. I am not a fitness role model, but I do get around to go to the gym. And I know you are sexy in your own way.

Anyway, that's my two cents on the subject.

Thank you so much for this post! I'm actually doing the same thing- I'm finding models who are sizes 10 and 12 as my inspiration to lose weight. I'm currently @ a large 18, and I would LOVE to be the size Tyra banks was when she was called "fat" or the size Mia tyler or marilyn monroe were. Marilyn Monroe's even on the thin side for me.. I'm glad you are choosing gorgeous, realistic goals for yourself! Good luck! =D you won't need it.
